Be an Admissions Interviewer

The Harvard Schools Committee
Chair: Loreen Collins, AB '82

The Schools Committee works with the Harvard College Office of Admissions and Financial Aid to recruit and evaluate the most promising high school students from San Diego and Imperial Counties. Each year volunteers interview 500+ high school seniors. The input of alumni interviewers is a critical component of the Harvard application process. Through one-to-one contact, interviewers gauge the applicant's personal qualities and offer answers to questions about Harvard, Cambridge-Boston, and college.

As part of the recruiting responsibilities, the Schools Committee hosts two annual receptions - one for the Early Action admits in the winter and another for all accepted students in the spring.  We also host a picnic to send off the rising freshman and the upperclassmen at the end of the summer.

We had over 70 interviewers last year and will need many more. This is a great and rewarding way to serve Harvard and our local community. Interested volunteers should contact Loreen Collins at loreencollins@roadrunner.com.
