HCSD joins in Harvard's Global Month of Service with popular event - bring the family!

Date:  Thursday, April 4, 2013
Time: 6:00PM - 8:00PM

Where: San Diego Food Bank (Miramar area)

9850 Distribution Avenue  |  San Diego, CA 92121

During Harvard’s Global Month of Service, Harvard alumni and family members will revisit the San Diego Food Bank.  Providing food to over 350,000 individuals on a monthly basis in San Diego County, equating to more than 20 million pounds of food, the San Diego Food Bank relies on the charitable acts of over 16,000 volunteers annually.

In April 2012, a total of 620 low-income seniors in San Diego County received a box of nonperishable items, totaling 18,600 pounds, due to the volunteer efforts of a group of Harvard alumni at the San Diego Food Bank over a 2-hour time frame.  Please join us in giving back to our community through your service as a volunteer alongside fellow alumni.

Items that pose a safety hazard such as loose fitting clothing or jewelry, open-toed shoes, and sunglasses should not be worn.  We will be working in a warehouse environment, so please plan accordingly.

Bring the family.  This opportunity to serve is open to family members six years of age or older.  Teens should check with their schools to get community service credit.

RSVP using the form on the right.  Please send any questions to event coordinator and Philanthropy Chair, Kristin Gross (kristin3399_hotmail.com).
