Volunteer at the Wounded Warriors Competition Support local Paralympic athletes as they compete in the 2013 Marine Corps Trials for the Warrior Games
Date: Sunday, March 3, 2013 Please join us in supporting our US Healing Heroes, medical retired veterans, and allied military partners from 14 nations during the 3rd Annual Marine Corps Trials at Camp Pendleton. As part of their healing processes, 400 military athletes will compete in seven Paralympic sports, including: swimming, archery, shooting, sitting volleyball, wheelchair basketball, plus track & field events. US Service members will compete for one of 50 spots on the 2013 US Marine Corps’ Team at the 2013 National Warrior Games.
Volunteers will provide on-site hospitality to our US and Allied competitors. Hospitality duties will include, but are not limited to, refreshing and distributing healthy snack options, complete with dry goods, fresh fruit and assorted beverages.
USO San Diego is proud to be a supporter of these events. Volunteers are encouraged to interact with the athletes during their shift and provide that special touch of home that the USO offers at their centers. Bring the family. This opportunity to serve is open to family members sixteen years of age or older. Students should check with their schools to get community service credit.
